Common Starling
Location: Washington DC
The subject in this image, the common starling, is not an uncommon sighting. But the cherry blossoms in the background make it special. As spring begins, male starlings find a suitable cavity and start building their nests in order to attract females. The Tidal basin in Washington DC turns pink for a week every year with Cherry Blossoms. This starling seemed so engrossed in his job that he did not realize how much human attention he was capturing. Or may be he did?
