Coastal Brown Bear
Photographer: Graham McGeorge
Location: Katmai National Park and Preserve
Not all Brown Bears stand on the falls to fish. I personally think the smarter bears stand neck deep in front of the falls and fish for the weak Sockeye Salmon that never made the jump and are now disoriented in the wash of the waterfall. This can be seen here if you look real close between the splash and in between the arms of the bear you will see the silver of the catch.
