2009 is the first year that we are awarding prizes in the Global Warming and Wildlife category. If you have wildlife photos of the species listed below, be sure to enter in this new category!
Global warming is having an impact on hundreds of wildlife species throughout the planet, changing the animals' habitat, decreasing food supplies, altering the timing of migration and breeding, and in some cases pushing endangered species closer to extinction. In this category, we are not looking for photos of habitat destruction but rather engaging images of species scientists say are being affected by climate change. We have selected the following species:
