Play Outside Native Coneflowers

What energizes your family and kids to get outside?

National Wildlife Federation wants to get families and kids outside because we believe that's the only way we are going to cultivate a love of nature and wildlife in young people.

There is a theory that today's youngest generations are suffering from "nature deficit disorder." Sometimes it means they are actually afraid to go outside. In other cases, it means they just have no interest in the natural world.

We want to put together a daily calendar of activities for families and kids. We are hoping to get kids outside having fun for at least one hour per week, what we call our "green hour."

A fantastic outdoor activity is happening soon! Join in National Wildlife Federation's Great American Backyard Campout™ - Saturday night, June 28. Learn more and register your campsite at www.backyardcampout.org

Please share your stories of what you do to get outside and help us make this the best resource.
