Wrigley's Litter Less Campaign

New campaign aims to make the United States a ‘litter-less’ place
The National Wildlife Federation has launched the ‘Litter Less’ campaign in the United States, with the support of the Foundation for Environmental Education’s Eco-Schools program and the Wrigley Company Foundation.

The ‘Litter Less’ Campaign is being implemented in 15 countries including the United States and aims to engage and educate American children and young people on the issues of litter, encouraging them to make positive choices.

Commenting on the launch, Liz Soper, Associate Director of Eco-Schools USA said, “We are very excited about the Litter Less campaign. Its hands-on involvement of children in creating a cleaner environment will promote a meaningful change in attitudes and behaviors towards littering.”

How the Litter Less Campaign will work in the United States
Children 5-12 years old will run the Litter-Less campaign through the Eco-Schools program. They will implement actions to reduce litter, for example carrying out clean up days, only taking food to school with little or no packaging, or creating products or an art installation which helps to promote anti-littering. They will also share their experiences with other participating countries and on the Eco-Schools Litter Less campaign website.

A limited number of schools in the United States received seed funding to help them implement a Litter Less Campaign.
