Students are invited to participate in National Wildlife Federation’s annual Garden for Wildlife™ Photo Contest. This is an opportunity to use photography to showcase how a habitat garden at home or school is working for wildlife.
Age on date of entry, 13-17.
Student photographers may only submit photos in the Young Habitat Photographers category.
August 8, 2022: Contest Opens
October 16, 2022: Contest Closes (extended through October 23, 2022)
Winners will be notified by email.
When entering photographs to the Garden for Wildlife™ Photo Contest, entrant will be directed to a payment page. Students from registered Eco-Schools should enter the code ECOSCHOOLSUSA to bypass entry payment. In addition, students under the age of 18 will be required to complete the form Parental Release Youth 13 and Older. Upon submission of a photo, the signed parental release must be sent via email to gardenforwildlife@nwf.org. If a teacher is submitting photos on behalf of a student, the teacher will also be required to obtain parental permission and email the signed form as outlined above.
One grand prize, one runner-up prize, five category prizes, and five category runner-up prizes will be awarded as listed below. The Youth Category prize will be paid to consenting parent or guardian on the entrant’s behalf. All amounts are in U.S. dollars. National Wildlife Federation (NWF) will also award honorable mentions from the finalists as judges deem appropriate. Prizes are made possible by the entry fee; no NWF funds are used for these prizes. All winners and honorable mentions will appear on NWF’s website at www.nwf.org/garden, we will also publish a selection of winners and honorable mentions from any category in the April-May 2022 Garden for Wildlife issue of National Wildlife® magazine, in print and online. Editors will send two copies of that issue to the entrants whose photos are published. The winners will be notified by email.
