Campus Networks

To accelerate sustainability on and off campus, the National Wildlife Federation’s EcoLeaders program is helping to build and strengthen Campus Sustainability Networks across the country.

For over two decades EcoLeaders’s tools, training, and expertise have empowered students, staff, and faculty to implement conservation and environmental education initiatives on hundreds of campuses nationwide. As higher education continues to embrace sustainability in operations, curricula, and community relations, interactive networks are playing a valuable role in helping colleges and universities:

  • learn from each other, reducing the need to "reinvent the wheel" when it comes to campus sustainability
  • protect wildlife and habitat on campus
  • prepare students for careers in conservation
  • conserve energy, water, and natural resources, while also reducing operating costs
  • implement the American Colleges and Universities President's Climate Commitment (ACUPCC)
  • promote clean energy solutions and sustainability in their communities

EcoLeaders will continue to be at the forefront of the sustainability movement by supporting networks that promote collaborative leadership in tackling our climate and energy challenges.
