RESTON, VA — The National Wildlife Federation, America’s largest and most trusted conservation organization, announced today that it is merging its magazine and innovation divisions to strengthen their increasingly intertwined work to connect millions of Americans and future conservationists with wildlife and nature. The new department, managed by Chief Innovation and Growth Officer Dawn Rodney, will explore and implement new strategies to increase the reach and impact of the organization’s award-winning publications, including Ranger Rick and National Wildlife Magazine.
“The National Wildlife Federation’s magazines have connected millions of Americans with wildlife and inspired families to get outside to explore. I am honored to lead this distinguished portfolio of magazines and to explore how we can reach new audiences and continue to inspire future generations of conservation champions,” Rodney said. “We’ve made important progress over the past several years modernizing and strengthening the National Wildlife Federation, and this new approach will help us supercharge the innovative spirit and work at the core of the organization’s work.”
The restructuring will ensure Ranger Rick and the National Wildlife Federation’s other award-winning magazines can continue to connect with the public and next generation of conservation champions in new and exciting ways.
Rodney, who has served as the National Wildlife Federation’s Vice President of Innovation and Chief Marketing Officer since joining the National Wildlife Federation in 2018, is taking on this new role as part of a broader series of promotions and improvements to the organization's leadership structure.
