National Wildlife Federation, Fieldstone Publishing Launch New Partnership to Connect People, Nature

RESTON, Va. – The National Wildlife Federation and Fieldstone Publishing have forged a new partnership to create an extensive offering of digital field guides and other interactive digital products. This innovative venture will develop a vast array of interactive apps and other digital offerings to connect people with wildlife, nature and outdoor adventures.

The initial product line, launched this week in honor of World Wildlife Day, features nature and wildlife apps called “National Wildlife Federation Nature Guides.” The first nine guides available on the Apple store focus on wildlife and gardening content in the following categories: mammals, amphibians, insects and spiders, reptiles, mushrooms, butterflies, birds, herbs and vegetables.

“Now, more than ever, it is essential that each of us are equipped with the knowledge needed to save our natural treasures,” said Collin O’Mara, president and CEO of the National Wildlife Federation. “By joining forces, the National Wildlife Federation, America’s largest conservation organization, and Fieldstone Publishing, one of the world’s most trusted creators of field guides, will help millions of Americans deepen their understanding of majestic wildlife, fish and plants, while enriching our experiences exploring our natural world.”

“We are thrilled to be partnering with the National Wildlife Federation on this important project. At a time when wildlife and the climate face unprecedented threat, bringing the wonder of the natural world literally into the palm of one's hands is the most effective way to engage and inspire,” said Shyla Stewart, president and CEO of Fieldstone Publishing, Inc. “Fieldstone is honored to be allied with the National Wildlife Federation, America’s largest conservation organization and stalwart champions of wildlife conservation, in bringing this content to life for a growing digital audience and for the rising generation of nature lovers.”

These comprehensive and interactive apps are designed to inspire and inform. The guides feature 50,000 pages of unrivaled and expert curated content and thousands of the highest quality photographs, maps and drawings — making it easy and intuitive to understand nature, make wildlife connections, and explore.

Fieldstone is the creator of the most comprehensive nature and gardening guides published in North America, including the National Wildlife Federation Field Guides, Sibley Guides, National Audubon Society Field Guides and Taylor’s Guides to Gardening among other natural science content. More than 37 million copies of these books are in print.
