House Vote ‘An Essential Step’ Forward on Once-in-a-Generation Opportunity to Address Crises Facing People, Wildlife

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. House of Representatives affirmed through its vote today on the president’s $3.5 trillion infrastructure package that it is prepared to invest in bold solutions to address the immense and interconnected climate, biodiversity, racial injustice, and economic crises.

“President Biden and Congress have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to put millions of Americans back to work addressing the challenges facing people and wildlife alike. Today, the House, led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi, showed it is ready to deliver on their promises,” said Collin O’Mara, president and CEO of the National Wildlife Federation. “This unanimous vote by the House majority is an essential step toward advancing the bold solutions needed to address the urgent climate, biodiversity, racial injustice, and economic crises. We urge Congress to work together to deliver critical investments for people and wildlife alike — including historic investments in clean energy, restoration, reclamation, and resilience, and more.”
