The President has vetoed a House resolution blocking the Clean Water Rule, which clarifies which streams and wetlands are covered by the Clean Water Act. Collin O’Mara, president and CEO of the National Wildlife Federation, applauded the veto this morning:
“We thank the President for his prompt veto of this resolution that would have harmed our ability to protect our nation's waters. The public broadly supports Clean Water Act protections for smaller streams and wetlands – and clarifying these protections is all the Clean Water Rule will do. Every American who hunts, fishes, swims or kayaks – or who just wants to drink clean water from the tap – will benefit from this rule.”
