Executive Director, Indiana Wildlife Federation
John Goss is Executive Director of the Indiana Wildlife Federation.
IWF is the Indiana state affiliate of the National Wildlife Federation. IWF's mission is to promote the conservation, sound management, and sustainable use of Indiana's wildlife and wildlife habitat through education, advocacy, and action.
Prior to serving as Executive Director of IWF, John was Indiana DNR Director, appointed by Governor Frank O'Bannon in January 2002. He came to the DNR after a 9- year tenure as head of the Indiana Division of Tourism. While in charge of the Division of Tourism, he also served on the Natural Resources Commission which oversees DNR activities. John was also chief of staff for then-Lt. Governor O'Bannon, and before that served as deputy mayor for two different mayors in Bloomington, Indiana.
John received the 2009 Charlie Shaw Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the advancement of the NWF/Affiliate partnership.
John is a life-long Hoosier with degrees in economics and public and environmental affairs from Indiana University.
