Sr. Regional Outreach Coordinator
Southeast Regional Center - Atlanta, GA
Steve Murchie is the Southeast Senior Regional Outreach Coordinator for the National Wildlife Federation, based out of Sarasota, Florida.
In his twenty-year career in conservation advocacy, he has worked for large and small nonprofits ranging from the Pew Charitable Trusts to the Texas Campaign for the Environment. He grew up in Maine and spent most of his adult life in Florida, moving back to the Sunshine State in 2008 after spending nearly ten years in Washington, D.C., as vice president for field operations for the National Environmental Trust.
He’s an Army veteran, holds a political science degree from the University of Florida (Go Gators!), and enjoys hiking, canoeing, camping, and cooking and eating fish, though he’s a chronic underachiever as an angler. Steve and his wife Michelle have a dog, two cats, four godchildren, and a far-flung extended family.
