Photo of the Week: Calm after the Storm
When Oregon resident Thomas Haney set out to capture a sunrise on Crater Lake during winter, he never anticipated the effort it would take. After a day of hiking in deep snow and a second day trapped in his tent by a blizzard, he writes, "I was finally able to get out of my tent to see the lake, and it was spectacular. The misery of the previous two days was gone." Haney used a Canon 5D Mark II and a 16-35mm lens on a tripod for this panorama, which was stitched together from two images.
