Climate Change Pathway Objectives

Learning Objectives

  • Deepen student learning by incorporating a cross-curricular approach to addressing climate change, including math, the language arts, the social studies, technology, engineering, and the arts.
  • Develop student understanding of natural biochemical cycles, specifically the carbon cycle, including the role both humans and wildlife play.
  • Investigate the impacts and explore solutions climate change has on global and local human populations and wildlife ecosystems, including threatened and endangered species.
  • Quantify the school's carbon footprint and identify ways to reduce the school's carbon footprint.
  • Design and conduct a carbon-reduction action project that will impact a public health issue and/or specific wildlife species within the community.
  • Research and develop partnerships with local, regional, and/or state organizations to build relationships and support for your work.
