Today, President Obama signed historic legislation that modernizes the 40-year-old Toxic Substances Control Act.
Collin O’Mara, president and chief executive officer of the National Wildlife Federation, said in response:
“This legislation improves the protections for the health of both the public and the nation’s wildlife, and is a landmark continuation of America’s legacy of environmental protection. It could not have become a reality without strong bipartisan leadership from Republicans and Democrats in Congress and President Obama. This law establishes a transparent regulatory process for businesses and industry leaders while simultaneously ensuring the safety of Americans and wildlife habitats that will no longer be exposed to potentially dangerous chemicals.”
