National Wildlife Federation Event Will Elevate, Empower Diverse Women Working in Support of Conservation
RESTON, VA — The National Wildlife Federation announced today that it will hold the third Women in Conservation Leadership Summit in Colorado Springs on March 16-19, 2020. The event, which elevates and empowers women leaders working in environmental stewardship, will focus on building a stronger, more diverse and inclusive conservation movement.
“Elevating women’s leadership is essential to the generational work and long-term success of the conservation movement. The Women in Conservation Leadership Summit embodies the idea that the conservation movement needs to elevate and empower diverse voices, perspectives and champions — to prepare our next generation of leaders,” said Hilary Falk, vice president of regional conservation for the National Wildlife Federation. “The National Wildlife Federation has long worked to empower women in conservation internally and across the movement. We’re proud to bring this critical event to the Rocky Mountain West, which has long been home to pioneering women and diverse voices at the center of stewarding and protecting wildlife, our public lands and waters, and shared resources for generations to come.”
The 2020 Women in Conservation Leadership Summit, which will be held at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort, will include trainings, hands on skill building, networking and resources for all women in conservation — from students and those starting their careers to those who have been leading conservation campaigns and efforts for decades.
