WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Administration’s budget includes $250 million for Everglades restoration, an increase over prior requests — despite cutting important environmental programs nationwide.
“This level of funding would build on recent state investments, putting us on the path to getting Everglades restoration done,” said Jessie Ritter, director of water resources for the National Wildlife Federation. “Congress should follow suit in this area, allowing us to get these long-delayed projects off the books and onto the ground. Restoring this unique place will protect our national heritage and Florida’s way of life.”
