NWF Hails House Bill Protecting the Clean Water Act

The Clean Water for All Act would block an Administration effort to weaken the Clean Water Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Two key House Democrats have introduced the Clean Water for All Act that would block the Trump administration's controversial rule to reduce the scope of the Clean Water Act by removing protections for roughly half the nation’s wetlands and millions of miles of streams.

“The current attempts to weaken clean water protections represent an attack on public health and wildlife habitat. We are grateful to Representatives DeFazio and Napolitano for working to restore historic, bipartisan protections for our nation’s drinking water, wetlands, and streams,” said Jessie Ritter, director of water resources and coastal policy for the National Wildlife Federation.
