Designed for people of all ages and all over the world, “P-22’s Wildlife Wonderland” is now live and open for registration
Los Angeles — The National Wildlife Federation’s #SaveLACougars campaign has launched, “P-22's Wildlife Wonderland,” a one-of-a-kind conservation awareness and education virtual platform that invites people of all ages and from all over the world to celebrate wildlife and the importance of caring for our natural world.
Registration for the free virtual Festival is now open and can be accessed via www.urbanwildlifeweek.org. The event poster and broadcast-quality animations of the platform are available for media here, and the official festival video can be viewed here.
The 5th annual P-22 Day & International Urban Wildlife Festival is being held on October 24th and kicks-off at 11:00 a.m. PT. The line-up of very special guests for the festival will include a performance by the Grammy-nominated band Black Pumas – and will feature appearances by Congressman Adam Schiff, Animal’s Planet’s John “Griff” Griffith, Once Upon A Time in Hollywood actress, Julia Butters among others.
Last year over 8,000 people attended the P-22 Day Festival in Griffith Park. This year, the National Wildlife Federation engaged with a team of developers to create this custom virtual platform so people can safely attend from home. The dynamically-designed festival interface will have participants create their own wildlife avatar and use it to help P-22 journey safely across the 101 freeway and beyond. Along the way, players will have the opportunity to earn “puma points” by browsing exhibits, playing games, answering trivia questions, and more to win special prizes.
This year’s event will also feature hundreds of exhibits, a kids activity area, virtual walks, wildlife art lessons, conversations and musical performances. P-22 Day Festival organizers invite all conservation non-profit organizations, educators, scientists and artists to set up a free virtual exhibit space and showcase how they are working to protect urban wildlife, foster connections to the natural world, and promote coexistence with our wildlife neighbors.
