WASHINGTON, D.C. — Brenda Mallory, the Biden Administration’s nominee to chair the Council on Environmental Quality, will bring vital experience in pursuing environmental justice focused solutions that address the climate and biodiversity crisis, which is crucial for authentically and successfully engaging with frontline communities most impacted by these crises.
“Working to overcome the monumental challenges imposed by the pandemic, while confronting the climate, biodiversity and environmental injustice crises will not be an easy task, which is exactly why our nation urgently needs the expertise of Brenda Mallory. Through her grasp of the structural inequalities affecting frontline communities, and her proven credentials in forging durable solutions that consider environmental, social and economic needs, Mallory will provide the Council on Environmental Quality with the leadership needed to establish sustainable and authentic relationships with all Americans,” said Collin O’Mara, president and CEO of the National Wildlife Federation. “Our nation and communities have no time to lose. Senators should confirm Mallory as soon as possible.”
Mallory serves on the Women in Conservation Leadership Advisory Committee and helped plan the 2020 Women in Conservation Leadership Summit.
