WASHINGTON, D.C. — The nomination of Rick Spinrad to lead the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration underscores the Biden Administration’s commitment to restoring the role of science in government decision-making and strong climate solutions.

“Rick Spinrad will bring crucial leadership and a commitment to science to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration — and you can mark that down in Sharpie,” said Jessie Ritter, director of water Resources and coastal policy for the National Wildlife Federation. “The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration plays a critical role in climate science, coastal resilience, and responsible management of our nation’s marine resources.
