WASHINGTON, D.C. — The National Wildlife Federation commended the U.S. Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee – and especially Chairman Joe Manchin – for affirming Tracy Stone-Manning’s record as “a dedicated public servant and problem solver” and advancing her nomination to lead the U.S. Bureau of Land Management to the full Senate.
“Thanks to the strong leadership of Chairman Joe Manchin, the full Senate will soon have a chance to vote for this exceptionally-qualified nominee to steward our nation’s public lands for the benefit of all users. Tracy Stone-Manning has spent her 30-year professional career bringing diverse groups of people together to solve complex problems. She has the experience, the vision, and the temperament to meet the serious challenges that face our public lands,” said Collin O’Mara, president and CEO of the National Wildlife Federation. “Four years without a Senate-confirmed director is far too long. As Leader Schumer proposed on the floor today, Senate should swiftly take up and confirm Tracy’s nomination, so she can begin the work of stewarding our lands for the benefit of people and wildlife alike.”
