Reflecting on Our Story
THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, we will devote this page to looking back through our archives at some of the inspiring work National Wildlife® has featured during its 60 years. As you can see, since our first cover in 1962 (top left), our design has evolved significantly over time but our goal has always been to showcase timely articles and beautiful photography of the nature we all work so hard to save. We do that in part through our annual photo contest, featuring the winners at the end of each year (bottom right). Our 2022 contest is now open, so send us your work—and perhaps you’ll become part of a beautiful legacy.
Our 51st annual photo contest is open from January 12 through March 27, 2022, and we’d love to see your work. The Grand Prize is our Nature’s Witness™ Award and $5,000. Learn more at nwf.org/photocontest.
