Pledge Summary

The Village of Mount Prospect is in the northwest suburbs of the greater Chicagoland area with a population of 56,000. The Village prides itself on its tree lined streets and green spaces. Mayor Hoefert is committed to continue our work providing butterfly and pollinator habitat by signing the Mayor’s Monarch Pledge. We look forward to continuing to improve our public greenspaces and promoting the establishment of more habitat.

Issue a Proclamation to raise awareness about the decline of the monarch butterfly and the species’ need for habitat.

Program and Demonstration Gardens ▸

Plant milkweed and pollinator-friendly native nectar plants in medians and public rights-of-way.
Plant or maintain a monarch and pollinator-friendly demonstration garden at City Hall or another prominent or culturally significant community location.
