City of Pontiac, IL

Pontiac, IL

William Alvey

Mayor

Pledge Summary

Pontiac, IL is a city in central Illinois with a population of 11,000. The city is located on Historic Route 66 and welcomes thousands of visitors each year. We are proud of the welcome we give our human visitors and want to extend that same welcome to the monarch butterflies whose migration patterns travel over our community. Mayor Alvey and the city staff are dedicated to stopping the decline of our state insect by signing the Mayors’ Monarch Pledge and creating pollinator habitats throughout the community.
