National Garden Club

For many years, the National Wildlife Federation and the National Garden Club, Inc. have worked together. Gardening for wildlife in a variety of states, including launching efforts of Community Wildlife Habitats. In 2015 our two organizations agreed to work strategically in creating more gardens for wildlife and support NGC’s Bee a Wildlife Action Hero initiative. Here are three ways NGC is encouraging its members involved:

1. Support the Mayors' Monarch Pledge
2. Lead efforts to create more Community Wildlife Habitats
3. Bee a Wildlife Action Hero and plant more Certified Wildlife Habitats with nectar and pollen rich host plants for butterflies, birds, bees and amphibians.

We encourage NGC members to recognize their commitment to wildlife by providing and maintaining the basic elements for a healthy habitat on your property: Food, Water, Cover, Places to Raise Young, and Sustainable Gardening Practices.

The application will ask if you have minimum number of requirements for each element above.
