FAQs

When can I expect to receive my Butterfly Garden Starter Packet?

Please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery of your kit after pledging. (Please note: This is a spring campaign only and supplies are limited.)

Can schools, classrooms and communities take the pledge?

501(c)3 affiliated nonprofit groups such as schools, scouts, nature centers, places of worship and other community groups are encouraged to take pledge to receive 35 kits for their group.

Why are residents of Alaska, Hawaii and international locations not eligible to receive Garden Starter Kits?

Monarch migration routes and overwintering sites are located primarily within the lower 48 U.S. states, Canada and Mexico and as such, the milkweed species NWF distributes are not native to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. Island Territories or outside the monarch's range in North America.

What will you be doing with the submitted photos?

Photos submitted will not be used by NWF publicly unless we express interest and request formal permission for photo owner. You reserve the right to share photos on social media.

What else can I do to help the butterflies?

Share your commitment with your friends and neighbors to encourage them to be Butterfly Heroes. Check out our resources page for more information of how you can help the monarchs and all pollinators.

If I have additional questions who can I contact?

Please email butterflyheroes@nwf.org with any questions.

Where can I purchase additional seeds to plant to help monarchs?

Visit local native plant sales and nature centers, botanic gardens and native plant societies or master gardener events. Ask your local garden centers for native milkweed and nectar plants and check out our Milkweed Resources page for more information.
