Hilary joined the National Wildlife Federation (NWF) as Director of Gift Planning in January 2016 and was promoted to Senior Director of Gift Planning in late 2023. Over her ten-year tenure, her leadership has helped increase gift planning giving by over 140%.
Before joining NWF, Hilary served for four years as Deputy Director of Gift Planning at World Wildlife Fund. She led the team’s donor-facing fundraising efforts, developed strategies to increase bequests and life income gifts, and worked closely with fundraisers and program staff across the organization. In addition, she spent five years in The Nature Conservancy's Gift Planning program first as a Gift Planning Officer then as Associate Director of Bequests and Annuities.
Hilary brings 27 years of experience in wildlife conservation with 20 years focused on gift planning and leading teams. She holds a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from George Mason University, with a concentration in community-based conservation in Latin America.
In 2022, she received NWF's Charlie Shaw Conservation Partnership Award, which recognizes an individual who has built strong partnerships across NWF and its affiliate family to advance long-term success in wildlife conservation. Throughout her career, Hilary has helped transform donors' generosity into enduring resources for conservation, strengthening organizations' ability to protect wildlife, restore habitats, and sustain that work for generations to come.
