Conservation Policy

National Wildlife Federation works to defend, strengthen, fund, and implement legislation that protects wildlife and benefits endangered species. We are driven by the firm belief that saving America's wildlife strengthens the fabric of our democracy and increases prosperity for future generations.

In pursuit of our mission and our goal to ensure we protect our outdoor heritage for future generations, we have worked diligently to bring everyday people and political leaders together to find solutions that will help conserve wildlife and make communities stronger. - Jill Feldhusen, Manager of Wildlife Policy, National Wildlife Federation

This victory launched the recovery of dozens of bird and mammal species and propelled our continued work with countless partners to conserve and protect our nation’s precious natural resources.

Sporting Issues

For decades, we have been the driving force behind many of our nation’s most critical pieces of conservation legislation that support the ability to hunt and fish. Our Outdoors team is currently focused on several priority issues affecting hunters and anglers, including Recovering America's Wildlife Act, the Farm Bill, sage-grouse conservation, chronic wasting disease, and more.
