Julie M. Sibbing is the Associate Vice President for Land Stewardship. Julie joined the NWF staff in 2000 and currently manages NWF’s work to improve the sustainability, wildlife habitat and carbon storage of working agricultural and forest lands. She manages a team that focusses on private lands policy, including the federal farm bill, efforts to diversify agricultural systems, grasslands conservation, forest conservation, and natural climate solutions; as well as a team that works on social-science focused training and research to improve outreach to agricultural producers to promote adoption of sustainable practices. Before starting NWF’s private lands work, she worked extensively on wetlands and clean water policy.
Prior to her work at NWF, Julie worked for the National Audubon Society, the Manomet Observatory and the U.S. Peace Corps in Honduras. Julie holds a B.S. in Ecology, Ethology and Evolution and an M.S. in Forest Ecology from the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana. She lives with her wife in Falls Church, Virginia and spends most of her weekends hiking, biking, and fishing at her cabin in West Virginia.
