U.S. House Members Ask EPA Chief Pruitt to Fix Ethanol Mandate

Today more than 60 members of the U.S. House of Representatives sent a letter to U.S. EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt, urging him to fix the broken corn ethanol mandate. Here’s an on-the-record statement from Collin O’Mara, president and CEO of the National Wildlife Federation:

“Fixing the ethanol mandate is essential if we are to protect our clean water, public health, and wildlife, and this letter is strong proof that the necessary bipartisan support exists in Congress to make it happen. The ethanol mandate has had disastrous unintended consequences on our natural resources and economy. There is a set of common-sense reforms that work for family farmers to protect public health and the environment, while keeping us moving forward on our clean fuel goals the right way. We look forward to working with the U.S. House and Senate leaders to reform the Renewable Fuel Standard, before the problems get worse and more costly.”
