WASHINGTON, D.C. — The National Wildlife Federation shared its condolences for the late Congressman Donald McEachin (D-Va.) and urged Congress and the nation to carry forward his work on environmental justice, climate action, clean water, and wildlife. McEachin, first elected to Congress in 2016, led the efforts to pass important legislative proposals, including the Environmental Justice for All Act and the 100% Clean Economy Act. 

“Rep. McEachin was a champion for addressing the egregious and enduring environmental injustices facing communities in Virginia and across the nation. He also fought for solutions on climate and clean energy that would bring jobs and prosperity to all,” said Mustafa Santiago Ali, executive vice president of the National Wildlife Federation. “His passing is a loss for our nation and a clarion call for his colleagues, constituents, and our broader community to carry forward his work on environmental justice, public health, clean water, and wildlife.”
