WASHINGTON, D.C.— The American Climate Corps will create career pathways for future conservation leaders while building climate resilience in communities, conserving and restoring wildlife habitat, and building the skills needed for a clean energy transition. The launch of climatecorps.gov today will make 2,000 positions available to applicants to start building a clean, resilient future now.
“The American Climate Corps is an incredible initiative that will provide young people with opportunities to bolster climate resilience where they live while working to restore our natural resources and ensuring a more equitable transition to a clean energy economy,” said Shannon Heyck-Williams, associate vice president for climate and energy at the National Wildlife Federation. “We are grateful to the administration for investing in this innovative idea. The clean energy future belongs to all of us, and the American Climate Corps is helping make that a reality, while fostering a generation of conservation leaders that can meet the challenges of climate change.”
