Reconciliation Package's Passage Makes Conservation, Climate, Environmental Justice Action 'More Urgent, Necessary Than Ever Before'

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The reconciliation package, which narrowly passed the U.S. House of Representatives and heads to the president's desk, will make addressing the immense and interconnected crises facing wildlife and people more challenging.

"The challenges facing wildlife, people, and the planet are immense, and this legislation makes our work more urgent and necessary than ever before," said Collin O’Mara, president and CEO of the National Wildlife Federation. "Although our climb is now steeper, I am confident that our movement, our millions of members and supporters, and our affiliates and partners in every state can rise to meet this moment. We will continue to work with our partners and allies to recover America's wildlife, create jobs responsibly developing abundant affordable and reliable clean energy, lift up hard-working Americans and frontline communities, and conserve and restore our air, lands, and waters for the benefit of all Americans and the wildlife we love."
