WASHINGTON, D.C. — The bipartisan Water Resources Development Act contains provisions that will support community resilience, help conserve and restore vital fish and wildlife habitat, and advance important restoration projects for the Mississippi River Delta, the Everglades, the Great Lakes, and other waterways. 

“The House’s bipartisan House Water Resources Development Act takes important strides to improve agency planning and community disaster recovery, enhance assistance for Tribes, states, and communities, and ensure that Corps projects support vital fish and wildlife habitat,” said Melissa Samet, the legal director for water resources and coasts for the National Wildlife Federation. “The process that led to this bill affirms that water can bring people together across geographies and political ideologies — and without undermining conservation laws intended to keep our water resources thriving for future generations.”
