National Wildlife Federation Acquires Zoobooks

130 New Titles Help Ranger Rick Brand Reach Millions of Young Readers

WASHINGTON – The National Wildlife Federation has acquired Zoobooks®, one of the most significant wildlife publishing brands in the United States. Zoobooks, founded in 1980, are magazines, books and digital apps for young animal lovers about different wildlife species from around the world. The National Wildlife Federation will continue Zoobooks’ legacy of bringing fun and engaging learning opportunities to children of all ages as part of its iconic Ranger Rick® publications. The first Ranger Rick branded Zoobooks will launch in February 2018.

“Now more than ever, it’s critical that we connect kids with wildlife—and bringing Zoobooks into the Ranger Rick family will accelerate the National Wildlife Federation’s efforts to reach more kids and families with wildlife learning fun,” remarked Collin O’Mara, President and CEO of the National Wildlife Federation. “Zoobooks’ unique kid-friendly approach to providing in-depth information about amazing wildlife species makes them the perfect complement to the exciting adventures and activities brought to young readers every month by Ranger Rick and his wildlife friends.”

The Zoobooks acquisition adds 130 award-winning titles to the Ranger Rick library, 200,000 new subscribers to the Ranger Rick community and new outreach opportunities to inspire kids and families to love, protect and save wildlife. Ranger Rick and Zoobooks reach family audiences with different wildlife learning experiences.
