Build Back Better Plan Will Create Millions of Jobs Through Restoration, Resilience, Environmental Justice Investments

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The House Natural Resources Committee’s contribution to the Build Back Better Act will create millions of jobs by investing in key restoration and resilience projects, clean water and air protections, and environmental justice and Tribal programs. The National Wildlife Federation heralded Chairman Raúl Grijalva’s (D-Ariz.) proposal and thanked the committee for its commitment to solutions that will not leave any communities behind and ensure our public lands and water endure for future generations.

“Chairman Grijalva and his committee’s contribution to the Build Back Better Act demonstrates how investments in conservation, restoration, and resilience can put millions of Americans to work, recover endangered wildlife, and ensure our shared outdoor heritage endures for future generations,” said Collin O’Mara, president and CEO of the National Wildlife Federation. “We share Chairman Grijalva’s vision for how strategic investments can address the climate, environmental injustice, biodiversity, and economic crises we face without leaving anyone behind — whether they live in a red state or blue state, on a city or farm, or near our coasts, forests, or heartland. This proposal also builds on the simple idea that taxpayers should receive a fair return as we work to modernize our leasing programs and transition to clean power.

“Thank you to the committee and its leadership for this bold vision and blueprint for the Build Back Better Act.”
