WASHINGTON, D.C. — The National Wildlife Federation announced that Dr. Adrienne L. Hollis will join the country’s largest, private non-profit conservation group as vice president of environmental justice, health, and community revitalization. Dr. Hollis will lead the organization’s environmental justice team to advance climate justice policy and programs. In addition to serving as a thought-leader, Dr. Hollis will help ensure that the National Wildlife Federation continues to center people and public health as we continue to protect wildlife and address the climate crisis.
“Dr. Hollis has dedicated her career to uplifting communities most affected by long-standing environmental injustices,” said Collin O’Mara, president and CEO of the National Wildlife Federation. “We are humbled to have her leadership at the National Wildlife Federation as we continue to strive for climate justice, community resilience and capacity, equitable infrastructure and legislation that helps people and wildlife as we work toward a better future.”
“As our communities, environment, and ecosystems are deeply interconnected and continue to suffer impacts caused by the climate crisis and environmental injustices, it’s imperative we adapt and uplift those who are disproportionately affected,” Dr. Hollis said. “Joining the National Wildlife Federation is an opportunity to continue serving these populations and deepen our relationships to make a lasting difference for people and wildlife alike.”
Dr. Hollis is both an environmental attorney and an environmental toxicologist and also an expert in environmental justice, climate change and public health. She brings experience from her time in the nonprofit, government, and academic sectors and serves on a number of boards and committees, including the Endangered Species Coalition, EPA’s Clean Air Act Advisory Committee and its Board of Scientific Counselors’ Climate Change Subcommittee.
