Regional Centers and Affiliates

The National Wildlife Federation operates from offices across the country, including our headquarters in Reston, Virginia; a National Advocacy Center in Washington, D.C.; and seven regional centers. The Federation also works with 51 state and territory affiliates—autonomous, nonprofit organizations that take the lead in state and local conservation efforts and collaborate with the National Wildlife Federation to conduct grassroots activities on national issues.

The National Wildlife Federation’s affiliates greatly enhance our ability to protect wildlife and natural resources. They are autonomous, nonprofit organizations that take the lead in state and local conservation efforts and partner with the National Wildlife Federation on a wide variety of regional and national issues. Affiliation is a voluntary relationship between each organization and the National Wildlife Federation, and there is only one affiliate per state or U.S. territory. This diverse network of partners elects key members of the National Wildlife Federation’s leadership and sets the National Wildlife Federation’s conservation policy priorities through an annual resolution process. Please visit their websites to learn more about their work.

Alabama Wildlife Federation

The Alabama Wildlife Federation is the oldest and largest nonprofit conservation organization in Alabama. The federation was established by sportsmen in 1935 to promote the conservation and wise use of our wildlife and natural resources and to ensure a high quality of life for future generations of Alabamians.
