Days of Service

Throughout the school year, build in opportunities to bring the community together in the spirit of service; service to the school, to the community and to wildlife. By completing this campaign, schools earn points toward Eco-Schools certification. Learn how your school can earn the Days of Service badge for 2027.

Days of Service Campaign Overview

To earn the Days of Service badge, login to the Eco-Schools Certification Application (ECA).
Add the Days of Service action card to your school’s action plan, complete 3 days of service, and complete the certification questions. Below is a list of suggested days of service.

National Day of Service, September 11
International Coastal Clean-Up, 2nd Saturday of September
National Public Lands Day, last weekend of September
Make A Difference Day, 4th Saturday of October
Family Volunteer Day, 3rd Saturday of November
International Volunteer Day, December 5

MLK Day of Service, 3rd Monday of January
Dolores Huerta Day of Service, last Friday of March
National Volunteer Week and Global Youth Service Day, 3rd week of April
Global Action Days, late April
